An exciting new service missionary opportunity is available for individuals 26 years and older to teach BYU-Pathway Online Institute classes. Online Institute provides learning experiences that are Christ-centered, scripture-based, learner-focused, and Spirit-directed that can help students deepen their conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. You will teach from the standard works, words of the living prophets and correlated Institute curriculum. Serving as an online service missionary is a rewarding experience that includes connecting with learners online throughout the week in Canvas and in a weekly Zoom gathering. Teaching these online Institute courses is an incredibly rewarding experience. Teaching consists of interacting with students online and gathering virtually with them once a week for 45 minutes. Online Institute Missionaries spend about 5-8 hours each week in this assignment. Update to Timing for Submitting Missionary Papers: Effective immediately, stake presidents may submit missionary recommendations up to 150 days before a prospective missionary’s availability date.
Updates to the CES Student Ecclesiastical Endorsements, Honor Code, and Dress and Grooming: Student Ecclesiastical Endorsement will now more clearly emphasize religious standards by aligning the topics addressed by Church leaders in their interviews with their core ecclesiastical responsibilities. Thus, as an ecclesiastical interview, it will focus on a student’s efforts to prepare and participate spiritually, which is an important part of accomplishing the religious mission of CES institutions. Please see honor code details on the web site of the institution you may be considering.

- How is online institute a help to ward and stake leaders?
Many young adults have crazy schedules and can’t make our in-person institute experiences. Online options can help them when they are in a faith crisis, preparing for the temple, or continuing their journey on the covenant path.
-Consistently attending Institute is as predictive of life-long discipleship as being born in the covenant, serving a mission, or being sealed in the temple. Institute has an impact on the students as strong as attending a Church college in religious outcomes such as church attendance, scripture study, prayer, temple attendance, feeling the Spirit, and having a testimony. EFT Setup for Reimbursement: We are encouraged to maximize Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) versus checks to maximize security and reimburse members quicker. To make sure you are setup properly, log into your church account and navigate under your profile to Donations. There is a setting just below your Donation Account section that you must setup to receive EFT reimbursements. Go into Donations > Settings > Expense Reimbursement Account and select your account (that matches the same account from which your donations come). It only takes a moment, and a clerk or member of the Bishopric will be glad to assist if you need help.
